Getting Rid of Bowel & Bladder Issues

I’m always having fun and satisfaction at uncovering things that may benefit MS recoverers.  My latest uncovering will aid your peace of mind by getting rid of the fear of being unable to control bowel and bladder as well as reduce the annoyance of having urinary and fecal urgency and frequency; moreover, just imagine how wonderful it can be by being able to get a good night’s sleep without having to go to the bathroom on multiple occasions.

So, just what is my latest uncovering?  Well, it’s the “second brain” and its location, of all places, in the wall of the bowel.  Apparently, the “second brain” has most, if not all, of the kinds of cells that are present in the “first brain” located, as you know, in the skull.  And because of its location, in the wall of the bowel, especially in the colon, when inflammation is present, you may soil on yourself.  Peace of mind goes out the window.  And don’t forget, whatever happens in the colon happens in the bladder.  They go hand in hand.

Yet, when it comes to regaining bowel and bladder control and peace of mind, you must not forget the importance of a wholesome diet, a diet that contains lentils, chickpeas, greens, oily fish, and the need for exercise.  If you have not seen the Bowel & Bladder Webinar Replay, it’s posted on the blog site.  The references are contained in the replay.

Here is a note sent to me on the issue of getting back bowel control.  I’ve been given permission to share it hoping it can help you.  It says:

“This is a message to all of you out in MS Land that have had problems with colon incontinence at the most inopportune times.   The situation had made me quite panicky about ever leaving my house.  I have been taking Morelogic for approximately  4 months.  During this time I have found that I am much more able to leave the house and the security of instant bathroom facilities and begin getting back to doing some of the things that I enjoy, like leaving the house.  In fact, it has given me the confidence to take and complete successfully a 4 hour round trip airline flight.  Thank You Dr. Rudy and MoreLogic.”

  1. Learn something everyday. Its taken several years of effort to get enough control to last a few hours with stops every 4 to 6 hours. Its been tough to plan a trip with bathroom stops on a schedule.

  2. SO FAR i have just bladder problems and Icontrol same by not taking water when Iwant to go somewhere and I end up by getting constipation. After some minor problems I am ready to start taking the Essentials and I hope that will work after a few months if not i will buy morlogic l am currently taking 10000 vit. d 3 and I am feeling great my GP thinks anything in small amounts is OK I decided seven years ago to go on LDN against the neurologists wishes and it was one of the best decisions I ever made the problem I have now is I dont know if my MS is in remission or is it due to the LDN thanks for all the help.

    • LDN is wonderful, from the very 1st time that I took a pill my involunty muscle spasms ceased completely!

  3. I have been diagnosed with MS since 1999. I have had my bladder, prostate, bowel and half of my colon removed and am on two ostomy bags.

I have to go into the hospital early December for my sixth surgery.

Anything you can add that will at least help me with the depression and terrible
anxiety that I have. I am only 63 years old. I am also diagnosed with Parkinson’s.

I will very much enjoy your input.

Thank you for any courtesy you will show me.

  4. Just curious to find out what LCN means as mentionned by Joan in the previous message. Thanks!

a good multi-vitamin and 10000 Vit d’s a day. I know I need to concentrate on exercise. It will
    help me get stronger.

    thanks Joy

  7. Isn’t it wonderful to have a passionate & caring Health Coach such as Dr Rudy. Again did I get an answer to a problem – by just exercising a certain muscle.

  8. I have been with Dr,Cartwright since his first webinar. I use the Essentials and more recently MorLogic. Not only is Dr. Cartwright a concerned physician, but a caring person. He actually called my home twice to see if I was ok after Hurricane Sandy!! I wish I had doctors like Dr.C closer to home. He’s a ***** physician in my book. Thank you, Dr.Cartwright and Scott.

  9. Dr. Rudy, I have suffered with MS for 25 years and have been on EVERY TREATMENT PLAN except Avonex. Almost every medication to treat the symptoms. It’s to the point that I can’t stop taking the pain medication to try other things with out hurting sooo bad with the pins and needles pain and now suffering with sclerosis. I don’t know how that sneaked up on me without a doctor telling me about it until it was too late to stop. I’ve read everything you have out along with other people’s life stories and what they have done. I’m now on Gilenyl (pill) and have been since its existent. The foods that you’ve suggested are ones that I have never eaten and at this time in my life (age wise) I can’t see making myself liking them. Grandchildren are coming and I so want to be a part of their lives. I’m beginning to think this is my destiny for whatever reason. What am I to do, Dr. Rudy? I need that cure that is going to repair the damage along with curing it. I’m not asking for much, am I? Ha! Never stop helping people. Thank you for your service.

  10. Has anyone been able to regain sensation and/or get their leg strength back using this protocol?

    Sincerely,

    • Dr. Spies,

Vitamin D3 is very important to take. Start out at 5,000 IU per day.

  11. I have been taking the Essentials for almost a full month. I tried one bottle of MoreLogic with no affect. I am having problems with leg stiffness, fatique, constant urinating, constipation, and ballance. I need help!

    • Trent,

Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) helps to get rid of spasticity. It is a prescription item.

  13. Hi from the U.K,my problem is walking and not steady on my feet.(Not drunk) being given Gabapentin 300mg will this help!, me walk better.

  14. Hello everyone. . .hope Christmas was good for everyone. This post is about MorLogic. I have been using it for a few months now, and I definitely see improvement in bladder/bowel function. I use Detrol-LA for bladder, however, I feel MorLogic definitely has improved the urgency aspect of this problem. In fact, I am gonna try and go a while without Detrol and see how I do using just MorLogic alone. I will try this at home when I am not having to leave the house. Bowel function is better. I seem to go more regularly and empty better. Taking in enough fluid is essential, but with these kinds of problems it is almost impossible to do that for fear of having an accident. I firmly believe MorLogic has been a great help; Recovery is a “slow go”, but we have to never give up the fight. . .WE CAN GET BETTER !. I am so grateful to have Dr. Rudy and Scott in my life and to have these products. Happy New Year to everyone !

  15. I started taking the Morlogic when Dr. Cartwright first came up with it. It has helped with my bladder issues alot. I have also been seeing a urologist for my overactive bladder and he prescribed Vesicare for me. That helped more than the other drug I was on, but I was still having problems. Once I started on the Morlogic, (taking that with Vesicare) I have noticed a difference, for the better!! I know things take time, so eventually I hope to cut down on the Vesicare (which is expensive!) and just take the Morlogic. I truly believe the Morlogic is doing it’s job and that, in time, I’ll be able to stop taking the Vesicare. (I don’t like taking Rx anyway!!)

I think Dr. Cartwright is wonderful! His (and Scott’s) webinars have been so informative, I’ve learned alot from them. Thank you so much, Dr. Cartwright and Scott, for the endless hours you put into getting all of this useful MS information out to us MS “sufferers” and caregivers!

    Sincerely,
Marie Nestingen-Heise (a die-hard Green Bay Packer fan “Cheesehead” from Wisconsin)

  16. I am so bloody sick and tired of taking pills to collect my urine and then I have to take a pill to “sort of” help me to pee (I am unable to release my bladder with out it! I get so “bunged up that I have to take a laxitive or a supository so I casn have a bowel movement! I drink plenty glasses of H2O. I have always been like this with BM every 3-4 days since I was kid. I am at the end of my rope!

    • Marlo,

I know that there is something in you that can help others. You must tell this story and, in doing so, you’ll discover that you’ll be helping yourself in a very special way.

      Dr. Rudy

  17. I’m a victim of MS for over 25 yrs. With irreversible damage to bladder and bowel
(No muscle tone and strength left) and a right drop foot. All kinds of physical therapy did no good at all so the damage causing me to drag the foot is so disturbing to me and everyone around me. Nerve and muscle damage is irreversible. Taken every treatment beginning with the first lottery of Betaseron and now Gilenyl. No Avonex. Do I stop all the medications first before going your way of treating? With all the damage already done, how can your plans to get back to doing what I was doing before MS ever happen for me? Like taking all the supplements, eating and not eating certain foods (unfortunately I don’t like half the foods you suggest)and exercising is almost impossible with balance and energy sometimes not there. And finally I am losing the possitive attitude I have had all these years.I think that it kept me afloat more than all the medications I was taking. All I can say is “HELP ME”!!

  18. My husband has all those same issues and was really sick. He did change his diet and can now stand and get in and out of shower and even drve a little now. It just takes a little while fot diet to kick in.
